Who we are
Oxford Architectural Photography is the architectural photography business of Kari Sherman, based in Oxford, UK. Kari is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. What we collect
When you use the contact form: your name, email address, phone number and the details of your project.
When you email, phone or message us on WhatsApp: whatever you choose to send.
When you visit the site: Squarespace, which hosts this website, records basic technical information such as the pages you view, your browser type, your approximate location and the site that sent you here. It uses cookies to run the site and to produce visitor statistics.
The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a person, not an automated program, is filling it in.
How we use it
To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and carry out any commission you book. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and then performing that contract.
To keep business and accounting records, because the law requires it.
To understand how the site is used and to keep it secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the website.
We don’t sell your information, use it for advertising, or add you to a mailing list without asking you first.
Who we share it with
Squarespace, which hosts this website and stores messages sent through the contact form.
Google, for reCAPTCHA.
Our email and phone providers, so that we can receive and answer your messages.
Our accountant, and HMRC where the law requires it.
Some of these providers process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only for as long as we need them to reply and follow up. If you commission work, we keep the related records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting, which is usually six years.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to or limit how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email ksherman@oxford-architectural.com and we’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
